Some of the more common conditions that we treat in our office include the following:

  • Neck pain affects millions of people every year in the United States. This can include dull, nagging pain into the shoulders or sharp pain when looking to the side. Affected individuals may also notice a "grinding" sound while turning their head. Mechanical restrictions in the neck can also lead to headaches. Sometimes people call these "stress headaches" which usually start in the back of the head and radiate up to the front of the head, sometimes behind the eyes. Many times gentle chiropractic care can help significantly reduce or even eliminate this neck pain, along with the associated headache.
  • Low back pain is probably the most common condition seen in our office. Low back pain can have many different causes including degeneration, altered movement of the vertebrae, and disc herniation. A thorough chiropractic examination can help isolate the problem, which often can then be helped with chiropractic adjustments. The simplicity and success of this approach has been documented in numerous research projects and has helped many patients avoid surgery. If an individual comes to us with a serous disc problem, we will work with them and consult with local neurologists, radiologists, and orthopedic specialists to help develop a care program best suited for the condition.
  • Few terms seem to have as many various meanings to different people as whiplash. In general, whiplash is an instability of the supporting structures of the neck and back. This can occur during sporting events, falls, or automobile crashes. These injuries can result in neck and shoulder pain, arm and hand pain, reduced ability to turn and bend, headaches, dizziness, blurred vision and sometimes ringing in the ears. Chiropractic care can help restore proper motion and decrease symptoms associated with whiplash. If caught early enough, the inflammation caused by whiplash can be reduced and corresponding scar tissue can often be minimized. Our success rate with this type of injury has improved dramatically since the recent addition of Active Release Technique which helps lessen muscle spasms, and Low-Level Laser Therapy to help reduce inflammation.
  • Low-Level Laser Therapy, or LLLT, is a newly approved FDA laser device that helps damaged tissue heal to a depth of approximately two inches below the surface of the skin. The laser is set at a precise power which penetrates areas of inflammation, pain, and swelling, helping the body heal faster. This type of treatment is also known as "cold laser treatment." It promotes healing through a process that increases cellular activity within the damaged tissue. Some conditions with which we have seen excellent results include arthritis, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fascitis, back and neck pain, sprains and strains. Granite city chiropractic doesn't simply rely on spinal adjustments and specific muscle work. Your treatment program may also include exercise recommendations, nutritional advice, and other conservative methods of care based on your health, history, age, current physical condition and lifestyle. We will work with you as a team so you will start feeling better faster. We also carry a complete line of nutritional supplements, chiropractic pillows and various supports and braces to help increase your quality of life.
  • We offer flexible scheduling with same-day appointments, and walk-ins are always welcome. We will take the time to listen to your unique situation so we can get right to the cause of the problem. We are committed to working with you to determine the best treatment program for you and your condition, whether it be at this clinic or somewhere else. We always try to keep individuals paired up with the doctor that handles their initial visit to ensure the person they see during subsequent visits will always be the person most familiar with that patient's history.
